Over the past 5 years, I have taken 6 lodge-based elk and mule deer hunts with a wonderful Wyoming outfitter out of Buffalo, WY.  I had always dreamed about a "wilderness elk hunt," so I asked my outfitter for a recommendation, and he told me..."no questions, go with Bob Sundeen at Trails West Outfitters and you won't be disappointed!"  So this last fall, after more than a year of planning, I and a friend finally took our trip of a lifetime: a horse-back elk hunt into the Wyoming wilderness.  Nothing I can say does full justice to the experience: magnificent and majestic country, wonderful guides with hawk-like eyes, delicious family style meals straight from the cook tent, complete with fresh baked pies and brownies, never-ending stories around the camp stove, glistening Greybull River cutthroats, and bull elk in abundance!  I never expected the real experience to far exceed my dreams, but this trip did just that!  If you have ever dreamed about your own "Wyoming wilderness experience," Bob Sundeen at Trails West is just the outfitter to help make that dream come true!
